bc4.ai - effectively a spin-off from a university - was founded by two members of the ifid Institute at the FOM University of Applied Sciences. The AI start-up sees itself as an AI partner for SMEs and research and teaching institutions.
We supply software and hardware for secure, sovereign AI solutions. Local installations, via a German data center (e.g. with DATIS, ISO 27001) or via US clouds. We develop highly efficient, domain-specific (e.g. medical) models. With vemas, we integrate AI into ERP.

Rüdiger is Professor of AI/Big Data at the FOM University of Applied Sciences, Scientific Director of the ifid Institute and supervises dissertations at UCAM and Charité. He is an expert in artificial intelligence, machine learning, information retrieval and natural language processing (NLP) and has developed his own chatbots and error-resistant language models.
He has published over 40 specialist articles, including in Nature, is the editor of renowned publications such as Artificial Intelligence Review and was recognized as a LinkedIn Top Voice for AI. His research and project partners include IBM, CERN, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Charité, the University of St. Gallen and Fraunhofer Institutes.
With a Ph.D. in protein chemistry (State University of New York) and studies in chemistry, physics and mathematics, he combines natural sciences with AI applications. He has many years of teaching experience, heads the research IT of a DAX healthcare company and appears as an expert witness on AI topics in international courts.

Founder and managing director of bc.ai, has been working in management consulting for over 20 years. He combines current AI research with practical solutions for services, industry and e-commerce.
After training as an IT specialist, he studied business administration part-time (FOM Duisburg), completed a master's degree in business informatics (FOM Düsseldorf) and completed his doctorate on AI in business processes (FOM Essen / University of Murcia). As a university lecturer, he teaches business intelligence, ERP, IoT/SmartFactory, AI, big data project management and cloud technology, among others.
With experience from over 500 projects, he is familiar with all the business processes of medium-sized companies - from CRM, marketing, sales and controlling to HR and support processes, warehouse management, invoicing (including ZUGFeRD/XRechnung) and process automation. It also focuses on business intelligence, data integration, machine learning in business processes and knowledge management.
His consulting approach combines academic expertise with practical implementation: building prototypes rather than endlessly planning theoretical concepts.
